December 15, 2015

“ It would be good if people didn’t get the impression that classical music was somehow different from them and from music in general “

We met opera singer Julie Fuchs in the Art Nouveau decor at Maxim’s in Paris. The musical interview starts with a private recital. On the small stage of the Belle Epoque establishment the soprano sings ” Yes!” extract from her self-titled album (Decca Records, Universal Music France). The album recorded with conductor Samuel Jean and the Lille National Orchestra covers all the period of the Roaring Twenties from Ravel to Poulenc with iconic songs of the operettas and beyond. The vibrant “Best lyrical artist of the year" at the Victoires de la Musique Classique 2013, reflects on her career path and the skills need to be an opera singer.

Julie Fuchs is actually playing the Countess of Folleville in ll viaggio a Reims by Rossini in Zurich Opera ( until January 9, 2016).
