Animation Director at DreamWorks Animation
“To me, animation is about bringing characters to life”
Animation Director at DreamWorks Animation, Kristof Serrand discovered animation in the 1980s while studying at Les Gobelins – a prestigious French school of applied arts, print and digital media. Fascinated by the idea of being able to “bring characters to life”, Kristof Serrand began his animator career at Gaumont in Paris. Rapidly, he moved abroad and worked five years at Amblimation, Steven Spielberg London’s movie studio at the time. He then followed the iconic film director who co-founded DreamWorks in Los Angeles. During his career, he witnessed the transition “from pencils to computers” with the arrival of 3D animation. With this technology he worked, amongst others, on Shark Tale, The Croods and the film series How to Train Your Dragon.
