COP 21: MASKBOOK an art project for climate
MASKBOOK is the first component of a collaborative art project using the “portrait-with-a-mask” as a symbol against environmental contamination for the COP21, the next International Conference of Climate in Paris, December 2015. A co-creation project proving that ecological transition is also a matter of culture.
On the occasion of the COP21 Conference, the purpose of MASKBOOK is to raise awareness about climate change. Everyone can participate in the project by taking a masked selfie – with a mask of your own design – and sharing it on the international website Maskbook.org.
It ‘s all about using creativity for the citizen mobilization against global warming as the portraits gallery will be used for an art video by Chinese artist Wen Fang that will be projected on historic monuments in Paris during COP21.
MASKBOOK is a project by Art of Change 21, a French nonprofit organization and a collective of 21 artists, social entrepreneurs and young leaders committed to climate change from 12 countries. It is financed by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and by the ADEME (French Agency for Environmental and Energy Management) which is also its partner.
